Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar, a British American singer and musician, is well known for her songs. She was the youngest and first female to win a British House of Commons Shield she has had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to perform live on stage and also be a presenter for the awards ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is a rising star on the Indian sitar. She is the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982, and her first years she split in London New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut when she was only thirteen years old. She then moved into Encinitas CA, where she received her High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Anouskha, who is only a teenager, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She regularly accompanies her father on stage, which she's done for quite a few years. Her debut solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. She's performed in all famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka's career does not only comprise the world of music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she is an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional will only continue to grow and grow. We can look forward to seeing many interesting things coming from her. Anoushka shankar is an English born musician who spent her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. She started learning to play the guitar at age 9 and performed on the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of her father's birth in Delhi four years later. Anoushka performed with her father throughout his global tour, gained a remarkable amount of experience. When she was in her teens, she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. It is the House of Commons Shield was awarded in her honor from the British Parliament for being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and the youngest winner of this distinction.
